So, I used the same process I've shown in several of the designing videos on this blog to make the branches thicker. The difference in this particular case was that part of the image needed to - [Modifying An Ornate Font](https://iloveknk.com/2008/12/modifying-an-ornate-font/) - I heard from my VERY first Klic-N-Kut customer yesterday, Kristi H. She posted about needing to modify a very ornate font. So, I had a look at it and decided that this would make a great tutorial in basic welding. I'm not sure I actually fully understand what Kristi needs, but that's okay. After watching - [Erasing Line Segments](https://iloveknk.com/2008/09/erasing-line-segments/) - Jo, a member of the Klic-N-Kut Yahoo group, needed assistance with erasing line segments in a bookplate file she was designing. This is useful since there is no - [COM Ports and the KNK](https://iloveknk.com/2008/09/com-ports-and-the-knk/) - This is a video I should have made a year ago! Consider this video - [Round Corner and Fillet Round Corner](https://iloveknk.com/2009/05/round-corner-and-fillet-round-corner/) - Today's video is for Lisa S who was having some issues with the Round Corner and Fillet Round Corner functions in KNK Studio. The link above takes you directly to the Design Master tutorials created by members there - [Seven Settings We Should Talk About](https://iloveknk.com/2008/06/seven-settings-we-should-talk-about/) - Today's post is all about some of the buried settings in KNK Studio that YOU might just want to check out for fun or for improvement in your KNK Studio experience. Here's a list of where they are and what they do:Options>Klic-N-Kut Setup>General Preferences: The Duplicates setting controls how far a copy of an image - [Grouping vs Making Path Part 2: The Analogy](https://iloveknk.com/2008/05/grouping-vs-making-path-part-2-the-analogy/) - As promised, I pondered about real life examples that might help users better understand Grouping versus Making Path. My first thought was Fruit Salad versus a Smoothie... but then I realized that with a Smoothie, you cannot go backwards and extract the individual pieces of fruit back out of it! lolSo, I pondered some more - [Grouping versus Making Path](https://iloveknk.com/2008/05/grouping-versus-making-path/) - Thanks to Kathy TwoBears for today's subject. Great suggestion, Kathy! In Klic-N-Kut Studio, the difference between Grouping and Making Path can be very fuzzy for most new owners. I even had to get Chad Youngblut at Accugraphic to explain it to me, in detail, early on in my KNK Studio mentoring. Rather than try to explain - [KNK Studio versus KNK Studio Element](https://iloveknk.com/2008/05/knk-studio-versus-knk-studio-element/) - On May 1, I posted the differences between the regular KNK Studio and KNK Studio GE. Now the question has arisen about the differences between regular KNK Studio and KNK Studio Element. It's my understanding that the Element version only installs the drivers for the KNK cutters and it's the version that ships with an - [The Hottest of the Hot Keys!](https://iloveknk.com/2008/05/the-hottest-of-the-hot-keys/) - If you've never browsed Appendix A of the KNK Studio, KNK Studio GE or the Design Master User Manual, then you should take an hour, sit down with your favorite "hot" beverage and play with these "hot" shortcuts! Note that it took 3 pages in each of those manuals to cover all of the hot - [Identifying PDF Types](https://iloveknk.com/2008/05/identifying-pdf-types/) - Here's a question I get at least twice a week: How do I tell if my PDF file is raster or vector after I import it into Klic-N-Kut Studio?Answer: Great question! And here are some general guidelines I use to figure it out:(1) Select the image and go to: Arrange>Break Path. If it's grayed out, - [Make a "Note" of This!](https://iloveknk.com/2008/05/make-a-note-of-this/) - This is a BIGGIE for those of you who design files to share or sell to others. Definitely take note (and pardon the pun, in advance)! There is a Notes function in Klic-N-Kut Studio which allows one to add text labels and instructions to files that will then be ignored by the cutter. I always appreciate - [To Swap That Axis or Not!](https://iloveknk.com/2008/05/to-swap-that-axis-or-not/) - One of the most confusing issues for new users of KNK Studio is what to do about the Axis Swap setting under Cut>Plotting Defaults. And to add to the confusion, that setting works differently in regular KNK Studio versus KNK Studio GE.For users of regular KNK Studio, you control Portrait vs Landscape cutting by having - [Keep your blades short! :-)](https://iloveknk.com/2008/05/keep-your-blades-short/) - A HUGE thanks to Lynn B for emailing me and pointing out that when you go to my profile and check out my interests (and the first three were cutting, cutting, cutting), they were all LINKS that took you to blogs where people were into... well... stuff that none of US would want to look - [Differences](https://iloveknk.com/2008/05/differences/) - Hi all,Today's post is about the differences between Regular KNK Studio and KNK Studio GE. I get asked this question about three times a week by members at the various boards. Below is a list I compiled to explain the technical differences but we're also being asked, based on what cutter you own, which software - [And off we go...](https://iloveknk.com/2008/04/and-off-we-go/) - So, I'm joining the world of blogging and I hope, rather than bore you with mundane details of my life, I will provide a place where you can get great tips on cutters, cutter software, and the actual act of cutting!
